Where to find the best vegan food in Vancouver

heirloom

Vancouver has a vibrant and thriving vegan food scene, so much so that it’s almost hard to pick a favorite. If you’re looking for the best vegan brunch in town, look no further than Heirloom. The vegan (tofu) poached eggs with hollandaise sauce are a popular choice, but it’s the French toast that really steals the show.

east is east

A friend of mine who is also a vegan recommended I go to Yeast is Yeast and even wrote down on a piece of paper exactly what I should order (thank you, Sisley!) Although it’s a western approach to Indian food, Yeast is Yeast packs a punch of flavor that almost made me fall out of the restaurant after dessert. My favorite dish was the creamy mushroom and eggplant curry. I promise I won’t disappoint.

Tacofino

Since its humble beginnings as a food truck on Vancouver Island, Tacofino has definitely made a name for itself across the city. Currently open in several locations and food trucks around the city, Tacofino is a great option when dining with non-vegan friends. The vegan burrito is $10 and I think it’s the best vegan in Vancouver when it comes to Mexican food.

When I arrived in Vancouver, my Instagram inbox was full of recommendations, but this was the one that showed up the most. There are several around town, but the one I decided to go to was the one in Gastown. And it did not disappoint. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the prices are fair as is the great vegan food.
