How to get to the Plaza Premium Lounge (and what to expect)

Must read

This article was originally published in 2023 and last updated on June 10, 2026.

Once you’ve arrived at the airport on time and cleared security, it’s time to relax before your flight. With the proliferation of premium credit card airport lounges, air travelers have more options than ever before, including Plaza Premium Group’s 250+ lounges at more than 80 international airports. These are available to travelers with certain credit cards and those who purchase a day pass. Read on to find out where Plaza Premium Lounges are located around the world and who gets free access.

How do I access the Plaza Premium Lounge?

There are several ways for travelers to enter the Plaza Premium Lounge.

  • All Plaza Premium Lounges accept Priority Pass in all tiers, whether you sign it up as a credit card benefit or pay for a membership. If the lounge is full, admission may be restricted.
  • You can get in with three American Express cards: the American Express Platinum Card, the American Express Business Platinum Card, and the American Express Centurion Card. It comes with access to what AmEx calls the American Express Global Lounge Collection, which includes Plaza Premium, Escape, and Lufthansa lounges.
  • If you’re flying first or business class from an airport where your airline doesn’t have a lounge, you can often use the Plaza Premium Lounge instead.

American Express cardholders can enter by simply presenting one of the credit cards listed above. No registration required. Amex cardholders can bring up to two companions free of charge.

If you don’t have a credit card or Priority Pass, you can still pay to access the Plaza Premium Lounge. Prices vary by lounge and duration. For example, at the time of writing, access to the Plaza Premium Lounge at Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) costs RMB 240 (approximately $35 USD), and access to the Plaza Premium Lounge Orlando costs $68 for three hours. If you don’t want to sign up for a premium credit card or Priority Pass, but you fly frequently in the same region, calculate a Plaza Premium Lounge Pass. For example, the $80 Americas Pass 2-Visit is good for two three-hour visits to Plaza Premium Lounges within the Americas.

What is Plaza Premium Lounge like?

Some Plaza Premium lounges are operated by third parties, while others are Premium Plaza branded and have higher quality standards.

At a minimum, travelers can expect comfortable seating options (newer lounges often have better designs), free Wi-Fi, private workstations, chargers at most seats, showers, and premium food and beverage options (alcoholic and non-alcoholic). Both food and design are influenced by the location of the airport. For example, at the Plaza Premium Lounge in Terminal 1 of Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL), you can find works by Malaysian artists (presented through Klang’s Art People Gallery) and local dishes like fish sambal and curry laksa.
