Where to find the best bagels in New York (according to locals)

New York City is home to great art, music, fashion, and most importantly, food. Specifically bagels. With that sentiment in mind, I’m trying to answer an age-old (and hotly debated) question. “Where are the best bagels in New York City?” So, after you’ve eaten your bagels and weighed yourself, we’re sure that by looking at this list, you’ll know exactly where to find the best bagels in New York, whether you’re a tourist or a native.

1: Bose Bagel

Bo’s, located in Harlem, has been praised for its combination of traditional and creative bagel sandwiches since opening in 2017. The Andrew is a personal favorite and includes eggs, sausage, bacon, Vermont maple syrup, and green onion cream cheese.

2: Tompkins square bagel

Located in the East Village, Tompkins Square Bagels has something for everyone, especially cream cheese lovers (as evidenced by the line out the door!). They come in a variety of flavors, from birthday cake to wasabi. If you are an adventurous person, this place is definitely for you.

3: Leo’s Bagel

Leo’s bagels are extra It’s fluffy, so it’s sure to be delicious. They also accommodate dietary restrictions, which is amazing. The gluten-free Everything Bagel with sun-dried tomato and roasted garlic spread is my favorite here.

4: Absolute bagel

This is also a spot where there is always a line! Trust me, it’s worth it. The bagels are huge and the menu is extensive. The Everything Bagel with chives, garlic cream cheese, lox, tomato, and onion is delicious. We also offer vegan cheese!

5: Brooklyn Bagel & Coffee Company

Brooklyn Bagel and Coffee Company was named Food Network’s Favorite New York Bagel, so you know it’s going to be delicious. Their bagels are hand rolled and kettle boiled. If you think bagel making isn’t an art form, think again. If you’re looking for a tried-and-true taste, look no further than our award-winning Cinnamon Raisin Bagel. It also comes in a variety of cream cheese flavors, including bacon scallion, jalapeño asiago, and honey bacon sriracha.
