US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is getting into a festive mood, with its latest AI-generated video sparking a backlash online, with many labeling it a “disgusting” practice that promotes polarizing immigration policy.
The video, posted by the Department of Homeland Security, aims to encourage voluntary deportations by the end of 2025 and was shared on social media with the slogan, “Avoid ICE Airlines and Santa’s Naughty List!”

Watching this video makes you wonder if the Department of Homeland Security knows:
- Santa Claus is completely at odds with everything ICE stands for, as he is modeled after Saint Nicholas, known for his generosity of spirit.
- St. Nicholas was a 4th century Greek bishop from Myra, in what is now Turkey, and therefore not American.
- Santa is known for spreading joy and presents, possibly without a visa, ESTA form, or passport, ignoring border controls and international airspace regulations.
