Paris is known as the City of Light, but it can also be called the City of Café. However, with so many options, it can be difficult to know where to start. That’s why we’ve created a list of the best cafes in Paris that will help you plan your next coffee break or brunch outing.

Best Cafes in Paris

Paris is known for its café culture, and there are few cities in the world that rival the French capital because of its quaint cafes, coffee culture and art. These are the 10 best cafes to visit in Paris in 2023. It starts with my absolute favorite, Cafe de Flor.

1. Flora Coffee

Located in the heart of Saint-Germain despres’ neighbourhood, this historic cafe has been a gathering place for artists, intellectuals and locals for over a century. Café de Flore first opened its doors in 1887 as a simple cafe offering coffee and pastries. For many years it has become a beloved institution, captivating a diverse range of writers, artists and thinkers, including Ernest Hemingway, Jean-Paul Sartre, Simone des Beauvoir and Pablo Picasso.

Today, the cafe is a popular place for both tourists and locals, offering a mix of classic French cuisine and modern café cuisine. The menu includes not only salads, sandwiches and pastries, but also traditional French dishes such as escargot and fried steaks.

2. Two Maggots

Another café of the famed past, Les Du Maggottes, once frequently visited Jean-Paul Sartre and Simone des Beauvoir. Les Deux Magots was also the birthplace of the literary and philosophical movements known as existentialism that emerged in the 1940s and 1950s, and many considered it to be the mainstay of Parisian culture. Today, it is as popular as ever, and tourists are visiting the city that hopes to find a feled or interact with anyone who’showho during Paris Fashion Week.

3. Angelina Paris

As far as I can remember, I’m obsessed with Angelina Paris. Today there are almost several locations in Paris, but my favorite place remains the original teahouse on the other side of Tiury Leeds Garden. Make sure to try the famous hot chocolate made from rich melted chocolate and served with whipped cream on the sides. Hot chocolate is so popular that it has become one of the cafe’s signature items and is also offered to famous figures such as Coco Chanel and Marcel Proust.

4. Rose House

Most famous as Instagram’s “pink cafe,” La Maison Rose has become a staple food for travelers visiting Paris in search of its old-world Paris charm. And while rosy glasses may cloud your judgment a little, we think it is the best way to see and experience Paris – in her glory! Here, spend some time snake through Montmartre, arrondisement of famous artists who still retain much of their charm today.

6. Coffee fox

Located in the Palais Royal, this trendy cafe combines Japanese and French influences to create a distinctive French language, but characteristically creates a minimal Japanese atmosphere. With great coffee and an aesthetically unforgettable coffee cup recognized around the world, you can’t be wrong by stopping in one of the many places in Paris for morning brewing.

7. Cafe Marley

Located idyllicly at the Louvre, Café Marley offers stunning views of the iconic pyramids and French classic menus. Think French onion soup, classic croissants, usually French service. Breakfast here at least once is an important Paris experience, but be aware that you will pay for the views and location.

8. Cafe Technique

The cafe is known for its abundant coffee beans and a cozy atmosphere from around the world. Located in Lumarais, the best day to visit is especially on Sunday weekends when Lemarais actually comes true. If you are visiting during the warmer months, visit Devoges, a nearby location.

9. Café des deux moulins

We are nearing the end of our list, but we share the best cafes in Paris, but that doesn’t mean that these cafes are getting so spectacular! In fact, this cafe is one of the most famous things in everything in Paris. Thanks to the unique features of the popular film “Amélie.” It is a charming and cozy place with vintage decorations and outdoor seating in the popular Montmartre.

10. Calette

I will not deny my love for Carret. Since discovering this cafe on one of my visits to Paris 10 years ago, I have definitely returned every visit ever since. There are two places in Paris so there are no mistakes. My favourite place is in LeMalais when you pass by on your way to a local museum, or simply stroll around the neighborhood. They make great takeaway coffee and have my favourite Pain au Chocolat across Paris.
