Of course, this culture is one of the best reasons to visit, but it also has beautiful views. In many cases, travelers overlook this hidden gem. If you are a slower traveler, pack your bags and give it time. These are the 12 best places to explore in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Pocitelj, Capljina
I had never heard of it before arriving in the countryside, but Pochiterge quickly became one of my favourite villages. Mostar. Located on the left bank of the Neretva River, pochitelj If you’re willing to hike up the stairs to the top, you’ll get an incredible view overlooking the village and river.

Bragaji
A small town outside Mostar, Bragazi is often overlooked by travelers visiting the famous old bridge nearby. Blagaj was where I stayed for a week to explore Bosnia and Herzegovina and the family who kindly hosted me was keen to show us the nation around their work schedule. Old Bridge (Stari Most) was rebuilt after 427 years of cooperation after the conflict in the 1990s, and became famous for its diving competitions every summer at the end of July.

Sarajevo
A compact city with a short geographical space and plenty of cover, Sarajevo feels like a world away from reality with its “cobblestone streets, misty hookah lounges and laid back attitude.” There is also a lot of history to uncover in the capitals of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Krabika Falls
Located in the heart of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Krabika Falls is a local favorite and even for international visitors (especially in the summer months to get away from the heat and pop in for a dip!)

As the second largest city in the country, Banjarka is another great pit stop for people in the city who need to choose a lot of restaurants, bars and pubs. The city is the heart of the Bossanska Krajna region and is located in the northwest of the country.
Neuum
The coastline is only 20 km, and Neum is the only town in Bosnia and Herzegovina, located on a peninsula with access to the Adriatic Sea (read about such history in this fascinating article). This makes Neim a popular place for holiday makers, but it is often overlooked by travelers to Bosnia and Herzegovina due to its proximity to the Croatian coastline.

The final destination we recommend as a must-see visit in Bosnia and Herzegovina is a small northern town known as the Konzic. This historic importance of the town becomes a necessary pit stop for travel. During the Bosnian War, the Konzic region served as an important link between Sarajevo and southern Bosnia and Herzegovina. Apart from history, the town is sitting among some of the most beautiful scenery in the country.
