Elon Musk’s social media platforms face growing pressure in Europe and beyond announced The company announced that it is introducing “technical measures that prevent its AI tool, Grok, from editing images of real people in revealing clothing, such as bikinis,” and this restriction applies to all users, including paid members.

Grok’s image editing features were used by some users to virtually undress photos of real women and underage girls. The situation, described by the European Commission as “appalling” and “disgusting”, prompted the EU executive to launch an information request and archive order against X.

The European Commission said through a spokesperson that it was aware of changes to Grok’s functionality, but warned it would remain vigilant.

“We will carefully evaluate these changes to ensure that they effectively protect nationals in the EU,” the spokesperson said, adding: “If these changes are not effective, the Commission will not hesitate to use the full enforcement toolbox of the Digital Services Act.”

If found guilty of breaching the EU Online Platform Regulations under the Digital Services Act, the European Commission could impose a fine of up to 6% of Company X’s global annual turnover.

The European Commission has already fined Elon Musk’s social network 120 million euros last month over account verification checkmarks and advertising practices.

investigation Deployment on the platform chatbot is currently underway in Australia, as well as France, the UK and Germany. Grok was completely banned in Indonesia and Malaysia.
