Where to find the best views of Prague

Must read

Prague is one of the most beautiful cities in all of Europe, even more so when viewed from above. The city has a very unique landscape (almost a mixture of bohemian and gothic architecture), so you can only truly appreciate it when viewed from one of the best viewing points on top or in the city. On my Christmas visit to Prague, I took on the job of finding the best views of the city. Below is a collection of the best views of Prague magic!

1. Old Town Tower

For Prague’s most classic 360-degree view, you cannot climb the Old Town Tower. The good news is that the steep stairs are gone (which can be replaced by easy ramps on foot), or you can even take the lift if you’re worried that you might be out of breath! Ticket price is Kč250 (about 9.50 €) and is worth seeing the views of the old town.

From the top of the tower you can see the city in all directions. Please don’t overlook your opinion Old Town And if you’re visiting in December, Christmas Market Below. You can also see it on the other side of the tower Prague Castle To the distance. The best time to climb to the top of the tower is around the golden hour of the sunset, but if you are visiting Prague during the cold season, a visit in cloudy conditions is always good as sunlight may be restricted!

2. Above Castle Hill

Speaking of Prague Castle, the hills where the castle lives also offer incredible views of the city from afar. This view is one of the best places to watch the sun set on top of the hill, bringing you the best golden sunlight before it sets. Above all – this view is totally free!

3. Charles Bridge Tower

For a small fee, you can also climb the Charles Bridge Tower overlooking the bridge and its many pedestrians. This is one of my favorite viewing points at sunrise and sunset, and is the post-sunset time known as the Blue Hour. The eerieness of Charles Bridge below is actually set at dusk and dawn.

4. Most laws

Charles Bridges is Prague’s most famous bridge (and for good reason, it’s the most beautiful!), but the two bridges on either side are worth visiting for the view of Charles Bridge from across the water. Most Legii offer great views early in the morning when the sun begins to rise or settle into the buildings, providing beautiful reflections to the water below.

5. manesuvMost

Another bridge with stunning views of Charles Bridge is Manesuc Most, located on the other side of Charles Bridge, near the swan gathering area. This bridge will be visited later in the day, allowing you to photograph the sunset in the background. From there, run easily for Prague Castle and catch the sunrise itself!

6. Rooftop terrace at Aria Hotel Prague

Finally, if you’re looking for hidden secrets that are unknown to many, the terrace above the Aria Hotel has one of my favourite rooftop views in all Prague. I was able to spend hours watching the city wake up and settle down in the evening!

The hotel has been newly renovated and is my favorite place to stay in town (and trust me, I’ve stayed in quite a few hotels in Prague!) The atmosphere is lovely and the staff feels like they’re going home every time.
