Thousands of Mexicans marched in Mexico City on Saturday to protest President Claudia Sheinbaum’s government.
The demonstration was initially called for by Gen Z, but later opposition parties called on their supporters to join, resulting in a crowd dominated by a wide range of government critics.
The march remained largely peaceful until masked youths removed police barriers near the Zocalo, leading to brief clashes involving stone-throwing and tear gas.
Although they were in the minority, some young demonstrators carried black flags with a skull and crossbones symbol from the manga One Piece.
