Azertelecom Chairman Emil Massimov said that the Digital Silkway will mark the beginning of a new era in Eurasian connectivity. The flagship project, the Trans-Caspian Fiber Optic Cable Line, will be the first direct digital bridge between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.
Designed for 400 terabits per second, it powers cloud services, hyperscale data demands, and emerging AI ecosystems. Massimov emphasizes that this hybrid submarine-onshore route will reduce dependence on traditional routes, strengthen cooperation across Central Asia, and open up a more secure, diverse and innovative digital future for the region.
