The Vulcans are probably my favorite region in Europe. So I said that. I love almost every place in Europe, but it’s the Vulcans I feel the most welcome and somehow the most welcome in the home. The hospitality and all-around welcoming nature of the locals I met in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, is genuine warmth, as Montenegro has struggled to fly every time I leave.
Best Vulcans: Places to Travel
If you’re looking for more destinations to explore or discover the Vulcans, these are the hidden gems I found during my trip. Many of them are small towns that have not yet been discovered by the tourist public, so make sure you give way there before you find any other parts of the world!

Mantenegro, Perusto
When I arrived in Perusto, I remembered my time in Venice. This small fishing village has the gorgeous atmosphere that many other small towns in Boca Bay do not. Perusto has become a cool spot in nearby Kotor (which has become the most visited town in the country, mainly thanks to cruise ships). As far as the Balkans go, Montenegro is the most underrated.

Blagaj, Bosnia & Herzegovina
Another small town less famous than its neighboring Mostar is Bragazi, a very small town just a 15-minute drive away. Blagaj is most famous for its Blagaj Tekija, a Sufi monastery built on a cliff. But it’s also a great small town to explore based on family homestays Bosnia From, cross the border to Dubrovnik and explore the Balkan coast.

Dubrovnik, Croatia
If you’ve never heard of Dubrovnik (Kings Landing the Popular Series in You Should Uned Unter – Game of Thrones), you’ve probably lived under the rocks for the past decade or watched the DVD. Dubrovnik is as picturesque as it looks. Terracotta rooftops, dramatic cliff edges and coastal lifestyles have been passed down to coastal Balkan countries. See this post for more information Best things to see in Croatia.

Kotor, Montenegro
Kotor, a small town south of Montenegro, has become one of Europe’s fastest growing destinations thanks to a massive influx of cruise ships heading towards the Bay of Boca. Despite the huge number of tourists visiting the small town, Kotor was able to maintain its credibility, saying, “If there are strict regulations on new buildings in light of the status of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, they would only want it to stay that way.

lovceN, Montenegro
The road to Loviten is narrow and entangled, with a seemingly endless series of switchback hairpin turns that are (literally) sufficient to keep at the edge of the seat, curling over the steering wheel to see the approaching traffic. However, when you arrive at Loviten after 90 minutes and see the spectacular panoramic view, the hair-rising drive is worth the effort.

Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina
Mostar is soon becoming one of Europe’s most popular destinations and in fact, one of the best destinations for the Balkans! See this post for more details Must-see destinations in Bosnia.

Ljubljana, Slovenia
Slovenia’s capital is perhaps the only city that is most underrated in all of Europe. Small size, ljubljana Pack punches for visitors Very incredible Picturesque that you would be allowed to think you’ve stepped inside a postcard. If the time is short you can discover the city in one day, but if you plan ahead, give it two days to be spectacularly lost on the streets, visit public parks and discover Slovenian culture and hospitality.

Pocitelj, Capljina, Bosnia & Herzegovina
Another hidden gem that I discovered while traveling in Bosnia pochitelj. This hillside village overlooks the Emerald Green River Neretova and is just 30 km from Mostar, making it the perfect day trip. The village dates back to 1383, and was under Ottoman rule between the 16th and 18th centuries, at which point it looked the same as it is today.

Bread, Slovenia
When I first saw a photo of Slovenia Lake bleeding I cried out in excitement, then booked a trip to Slovenia and ignored how far I was from my travel plans. Lake Bleeding is one of Europe’s most romantic destinations, and when you ask me, The most beautiful lake in Europe.

Macedonia, Macedonia
Aurid, a small city in the southwest of the country, is most famous for St. John of Caneus. The church sits on the edge of a cliff overlooking Lake Orid.

Heavy, Albania
Known as the city of Thousand Window, Berat is generally considered to be the most beautiful city in all of Albania. Here you can discover byzantine churches, red mosques and city walls to marvel at Ottoman homes.

Plitvice Lakes National Park in Croatia
All Things you need to do in CroatiaPlitvice Lakes National Park should be at the top of the list somewhere next to Dubrovnik and Istria. Thanks to Instagram, this destination is extremely popular in the summer months, so if you want to enjoy the whole park, arrive early at the opening.

Croatia, Hvar
Another great destination you should not miss in Croatia is HVAR. The island features 13th century walls and terracotta roofs that welcome tourists from all over the world during the summer.

Pere Castle
I didn’t keep it a secret Pere Castle It’s my favorite castle in all Europe. Located on the mountains of the Carpatians, you can easily visit this dreamy fairytale castle as a day trip from Blasov, and combine the day trip with Transylvania’s Blanc Castle.

Lake Bohingi, Slovenia
If you’re looking for a replacement for too much busy lake bleeding, or if you’re spending more time exploring Slovenian gems, add Lake Bohingi in your travel plan.

Our Lady Rock Church in Montenegro
A short water taxi from Perast will arrive at Our Lady Rock Church in Boca Bay, Montenegro. This place is an island created by a man, and the church still holds many events and services today.

Elafonisi, Crete
Located near the island of Crete is this glorious pink sandy beach with crystal clear turquoise waters. In good weather, you can walk from Crete through shallow water to the island.

Skopelos, Greece
Skopelos It may not be your first choice when traveling to Greece, but that’s probably because you’ve never heard of it. Popular destinations like Santorini and Mykonos are as beautiful as the photos show, but if you’re looking for something beyond your next Instagram upload, you might consider a lesser-known island like the quaint and charming Skopello. Skopelos went into tourism when a handful of scenes from Mamamia were revealed! The film was filmed here, but in recent years more have returned towards the once known sleepy seaside town.

Meteora in Greece
This rock formation in Central Greece has gained popularity thanks to its incredible mix of natural and artificial structures. The structure is actually a monastery, with a total of six being incorporated into the rocks.

Zakynthos, Greece
It is one of Greece’s most popular destinations. Zakynthos became popular after it went viral on Instagram a few years ago and showed dramatic cliffs and shipwrecks on the beach below. It is certainly one of Greece’s most famous holiday spots, but I would also recommend it as one of the best of the Balkans.
