Moorea Travel Guide
After landing in Tahiti, we flew to Moorea. It’s only 7 minutes by plane or 30 minutes by ferry (which I learned on the way back was much cheaper!) From the ferry terminal or airport you can take a taxi to your accommodation. Here is a complete guide to visiting Moorea.
There are a limited number of hotels and guesthouses available on the island, so we strongly recommend booking in advance to secure your accommodation. If you’re looking for a beach bungalow or an overwater bungalow, we checked into the beautiful Sofitel Moorea.

Moorea Tourist Guide: People
The first day I arrived in Moorea, I was already claiming to everyone that this island was my favorite island in Tahiti. Purely based on the warmth of the people and the laid-back atmosphere (or should I say “real” Tahiti, which I was looking for!), everyone I met was eager to share their culture with us, and I found myself weaving baskets, making flower crowns, and dancing (Tahitian style!) and the more I traveled, the more I felt welcomed.

Island activities
There’s another reason why I love Moorea so much. more than other islandsas you might have already guessed from the headline, is all thanks to the activity. As someone who likes to leisurely explore my surroundings (rather than hopping from attraction to attraction), I really enjoyed a day of riding my quad bike through the mountains with nowhere to go and no set time frame. Unfortunately, we had also planned to go horseback riding in the mountains, but a severe storm grounded all flights for two days, so no wonder we couldn’t do that.
One thing I wish I had more time to do is go hiking around the island ( heaping amount Unfortunately, the rain delayed our arrival on the island and our time here was very limited. So if I could give you one last suggestion, it would be to make sure you book at least a week to discover Moorea Island.
