The first meeting between President Trump and President Zelensky quickly devolved into a full-blown shouting match on live television in the Oval Office.

The debate was intended to focus on U.S. aid to Ukraine and the mineral deal, but quickly turned sour as U.S. Vice President Vance accused Zelenskiy of being “disrespectful” and “ungrateful.”

President Trump initially opted for silence while Vance addressed the Ukrainian leader, but later intervened after Zelensky suggested that the United States was also involved in supporting Ukraine, saying Washington would “feel the influence of Mr. Putin” if it did not take decisive action to stop Mr. Putin.

President Trump was furious: “You are gambling with the lives of millions of people.” “You’re betting on World War III,” he added.

Zelenskiy left the White House after a heated argument and without an agreement or even a joint press conference with Trump, which is a tradition in the White House after a meeting between a US president and a foreign leader.

Trump also ordered a suspension of U.S. military aid shipments to Ukraine immediately after Zelensky left office.
