Eight skiers were rescued alive from an avalanche on the Stubai Glacier in Austria’s Tyrolean Alps on Thursday.
Four people suffered minor injuries and two were taken to the hospital.
The group, consisting of five men and three women, were skiing off-piste when they triggered the avalanche.
More than 250 rescue workers, including mountain rescue teams, avalanche dogs and helicopters, took part in the massive rescue operation.
By the afternoon, all the skiers from Germany, Bulgaria and Austria had been found with minor injuries.
The avalanche occurred in the Dauncharte Pass, a dangerous area outside a protected ski area, and was caused by it crossing a slope that had a significant snowfall. Some skiers used airbags for safety.
