When it comes to luxury Mexican holidays, you’ll be hard-pressed to find anything more sophisticated than a private oasis. One & Only Palmyra. The epitome of Spanish colonial architecture and style, One&Only Palmyra enjoys a prime location on the coastline, a 30-minute drive from the hustle and bustle of the city. cabo san lucasthus providing its own oasis. We checked into this charming resort, popular with celebrities and socialites looking for a quick escape to the Baja Peninsula on a short flight from LAX.

Check-in: One&Only Palmyra
Just 2.5 hours from Los Angeles, you’ll arrive on the sunny shores of Mexico’s Baja Peninsula. One&Only Palmyra is just a short drive from the airport. It is one of the most luxurious resorts in Los Cabos and to me it is the epitome of Mexican hospitality.
Welcome to Casa, a modest beachside villa with an open patio that lets in the sea breeze as soon as you enter the resort’s gates. Most rooms are oceanfront on the first or second floor, so you can enjoy the sunrise directly from your bed before heading outside to enjoy a private beach area, multiple pools, and the best guacamole of your life.

An oasis like no other: Los Cabos’ original luxury resort
There are many luxury options for vacationing in Los Cabos, but for me, nothing compares to the tradition and heritage offered at the One & Only Palmira. I timed my visit during the shoulder season just before the Memorial Holiday. That meant we often felt like we had the entire resort to ourselves.
If you visit during high season, there are plenty of areas to enjoy on your own, including beachside cabanas and private beach access from the resort. Either way, I promise it’s worth it if you can wake up early, as you’re almost guaranteed to have the sunrise spot all to yourself while your resort mates enjoy a good night’s sleep.
We stayed at some of Los Cabos’ finest resorts during our stay, but the biggest difference was the unparalleled service provided at One&Only Palmira. Having explored some great hotels and resorts over the years, I thought I’d seen it all, from the pool boy appearing out of nowhere to clean my sunglasses and arranging a complimentary neck massage by the pool (right?!) The staff team have a ‘nothing is too much trouble’ approach, whether it’s arranging tequila tastings or bringing a selection of bar snacks to your room for cocktail hour.
If you’re an adventurous traveler and only have a limited amount of time by the pool (about 20 minutes for me), why not book a lesson at a private surf school, rent a stand up paddleboard, or hit the on-site tennis court?

Around the resort
Throughout our few nights here, there was so much to discover that we were never at a loss for what to do next. I think you need at least 4 nights to enjoy everything the resort has to offer.
Each morning you can enjoy a variety of activities, but my favorite was the comprehensive Vinyasa yoga session with a glass of green juice at the end of class.
Another highlight for me was the endless options offered to suit dietary requirements. From tofu yogurt (which isn’t as bad as it sounds) to breakfast smoothies, the team has been catering to Hollywood customers for years and has mastered the art of truly delicious, clean eating.
The sunrise and sunset seen from the resort are both magical. Please take a look during your stay.

Thank you to the Los Cabos Tourism Board for inviting us to enjoy your vacation on the Baja Peninsula. unique Palmyra for hosting my stay. As always, all opinions and photos are my own.
