As governments around the world face accelerating developments in artificial intelligence technology, climate change and economic uncertainty, organizers of the World Government Summit (WGS) say this year will see their most ambitious event yet. The summit will be held in Dubai from February 3rd to 5th and has been held annually since 2013.
The 2026 edition, themed “Shaping the Government of the Future,” is expected to bring together 35 heads of state and government, more than 150 government delegations, and more than 6,000 participants.
The summit will host a series of high-level forums on artificial intelligence, education, mobility, sustainability, and economic resilience.
For the first time, there will also be a Global Laureates Summit, where Nobel laureates and leading scientists will directly participate in key policy debates.
Organizers say the goal goes beyond dialogue to create a platform that brings together politicians and private sector leaders at a time when the global system is under strain.
“The World Government Summit, which began in the UAE with a global reach, was guided by the leadership’s vision to become a global platform where practical solutions, new ideas and impactful partnerships take shape,” said His Excellency Mohammad Al Gergawi, Minister and Chairman of the WGS, speaking at the World Government Summit Dialogue, discussing the event’s key themes and latest additions.
