The countdown to Christmas began and I saw it The prince of Christmas Netflix is becoming a record of sorts. However, when I looked up where the Prince of Christmas filmed, I was surprised to find little online information about this beautiful castle and how to visit it.
This film is set in a real castle I visited. RomaniaSo I thought this would be a great opportunity to plug in one of my favorites Eastern Europe Encourage people to consider Romania in their location and their next trip plan!

The Prince of Christmas: Visit Perez Castle
A few years ago, I first visited Pere Castle in Sinaia, Romania. This country has been on my dream trip list for a long time, but when I realized I could afford a few weeks between my trip to Hungary and my trip to Italy, I thought up the best time to book a train further east and check out Romania.
The castle that originally attracted me to Romania was Dracula’s Castle (Brand Castle). To travel between two people, you’ll need a vehicle or find a friendly local who will be willing to act as a driver for a small fee (Cheers Claudio!)

Pere Castle
This Neo-Renaissance castle is located in the Carpathians and is generally considered to be the most romantic castle in all of Europe (and it’s not hard to see why!) as the castle travels between Transylvania and Wallachia, twisting and bent between some of the most beautiful scenes imaginable.
Construction of the castle began in 1873 and was commissioned by King Carroll I of Romania. Like the film, the castle boasts a court of hedges like the stable and impressive care of the royal family. Yes, all the statues in the film are also authentic!
Visiting the castle is always impressive, but the most magical ones are light layers of snow from winter, or fall colors in autumn.

Where to stay
For a visit to Romania’s most beautiful and famous castle, I decided to place myself based on Blasov, located 48 km from Pere Castle. This small but charming little town has a discarded atmosphere between dawn and dawn, but it makes it a great base to explore the area.
Alternatively, you can stay near a castle in one of Sinaia’s small boutique hotels, but you’ll need a car rental for your stay.
Elsewhere in Romania, you will find many fascinating small towns, impressive mountain views, and city cities to discover, so be sure to travel! Other highlights for me include Sibiu, Timisoara and Sighisoara.
