At least four people, including police officers outside New York, were killed after gunmen fired fire in a midtown Manhattan office building on Monday.
The suspect was identified as Nevada’s Shane Tamra, and the two explained the investigation. Sources said he fatally shot himself.
Tamra, who resides in Las Vegas and drives cross-country to New York, is believed to have acted alone, according to New York State Police Commissioner Jessica Tish. She added that an investigation into possible motivations is ongoing.
Mayor of New York City, Eric Adams, also said several people were injured. He posted a clip on social media, urging officers to be urged to remain inside the building while they were doing floor-by-floor searches.
The skyscrapers are located in a busy area of Midtown, just a few blocks from Central Park. It houses some of the country’s top financial companies, including Blackstone and KPMG offices, the Irish consulate and the National Football League headquarters.
