Run to Four Seasons Chiang Mai

Must read

As far as I can remember, I had a romantic relationship with Thailand. In fact, I can probably even pinpoint the moment it happened and the moment when the love affair began. When I first visited Thailand, I was 19 years old. On that trip I went straight to Phuket and spent a few nights in Bangkok on my way back to Australia.

However, since that trip I have been eager to find more countries. In particular, I wanted to visit Chiang Mai.

One of my close friends wrote about her time here in Chiang Mai in the World’s Last World about five years ago.

So when I was invited to an invitation to Bangkok and invited to write about the newly opened Four Seasons Bangkok, I took it myself and got out of it all! I booked a flight to allow two weeks domestically. Finally, I’ve carved all the destinations I’ve wanted for a long time. The trip is back now.

I’ll be honest and share what I didn’t plan much before this trip. I knew when I would fly to my new destination (Golden Triangle, Chiang Mai, Koh Samui, Bangkok), but beyond that there was a very lax plan. I think I’m grateful for the opportunity to do so after waiting for the last two years to experience a trip again. And so I left our destiny, the hands of our destinations and what they offered after we were on the ground.

After all, there’s a lot to do in Chiang Mai and there’s a lot to do in the resort itself. The resort is a 20-minute drive outside of town, so over time it becomes a rather peaceful oasis. But of course, if you have more than a few nights at the resort, take a day trip to Chiang Mai and explore the surrounding area.

Resort Chiang Mai for 4 seasons

It’s been a really long time since I checked in to the resort. The last two years of the trip pause, that time has been further amplified. But honestly, I don’t consider myself a resort person. I prefer to visit the city and be in the midst of a hustle or somewhere on the grid remotely. However, I was surprised at my time in Chiang Mai, but after spending a few nights here you can see why travelers choose the resort atmosphere (especially if you are traveling to a family or group!)

The resort has everything to explore from bikes to nearby cafes (I highly recommend Fleur Cafe), motorcycles for rentals, yoga classes, and even a crystal sound healing experience (which I would recommend too!).

For me, the highlight of our dining experience was dinner in the rice fields with a private dining room on the water with a local musician. The atmosphere was like something in the movie, but it was really food that stole the show! Everything we had during the Four Seasons’ Chiang Mai Island was fresh, flavorful and locally sourced. So, even if you don’t stay here, make a dinner reservation one night and take a walk around the hotel grounds.
