Stay at Four Seasons Bangkok

Must read

I first visited Bangkok 10 years ago, 20 years ago. Now, ten years later, the city has changed to ten times (and I am happy to report, so too). At the time I was visiting only a handful of countries. Thai culture, food and hospitality are completely new to me and it wasn’t difficult to fall head overhead for this country. So, in order to go back in 10 years, I wanted to see how Bangkok changed and how I had too. For this stay, I checked in at Four Seasons Bangkok, a newly opened five-star hotel on the Chao Phraya River.

Bangkok’s Oasis

I start by stating the obvious. FourSeasons Chao Phraya River is a complete oasis hidden behind steep walls. If you’re like me and you love city ideas more than busy crowds (especially in the past few years), this is the perfect hotel to position yourself for a few days of relaxation.

While planning a trip to Thailand, I realized that I was looking forward to more at the poolside sitting in a remote country resort or a private villa on Koh Samui. But by the end of our trip, I was in love with Bangkok again. Bangkok has become the core reason for this new love affair.

The hotel is quietly located on the Chao Phraya River, running through the heart of Bangkok. This gave me even more reason to enjoy the river and use it as a transport method rather than getting caught up in traffic on busy streets (of course, the mandatory tuk tuk ride was fun!)

Resort area: My highlights

As many of you already know, I have had a significant share of the hotel over the years. As someone who has been a career staying at a 5-star hotel (reviewing), I can honestly say that this hotel is on the forefront of the direction in which luxury hotels are on the way in the near future. Simply put, the Four Seasons Chao Phraya River is a complete oasis. There are endless hidden corners to discover, with plenty of green spaces and a wealth of ammunition at your fingertips. During our stay we enjoyed daily buffet breakfast, Thai boxing classes, flying yoga and strings from a European restaurant with an award-winning chef.

Dining in Four Seasons Bangkok

As is usually the case in Bangkok, the hotel has plenty of world-class restaurants. Food is a central focus for the hotel and there are plenty of options to avoid leaving the hotel! Of course there are plenty of great restaurants and bars to explore outside the hotel, but if you want to spend the night, my number one choice inside the hotel is my number one choice.

River of the river – My number one choice for a meal at the hotel, especially the outstanding buffet breakfast! When I say this was one of the best buffet breakfasts I’ve enjoyed in my life, I’m not exaggerating much.

Palm Brasserie – Great dinner options for great French cuisine. The cocktails are also tasty.

BKK Social Club – An award-winning bar with a mind-blowing cocktail menu. The bar snack menu is also unbelievable, so make sure you’re hungry.

Cafe Madeleine – A luxurious pastry shop located in front of the river. Visit near the opening hours in the morning and make the perfect choice (some of their pastries are very popular and sell out every day!)
