Government President Pedro Sánchez, accompanied by Transport Minister Óscar Puente and Andalusian military junta president Juanma Moreno, visited Adams, Cordoba, the site of a train crash that killed at least 40 people. The town mayor, Rafael Ángel Moreno, wanted to point out that from the beginning, “they helped all the injured.” He also said he would like to thank “all the neighbors” who have been generous in helping with this tragedy.

The president of the Andalusian military government also recognized the “unity” of the Adams residents and expressed his gratitude on behalf of all Andalusians.

“We have been working together with you to find and identify the deceased. There are still many hours of work left and we can only continue.” “This will leave a mark on all Andalusians. We still have a long way to go, but together we will surely go further,” Moreno concluded.

“This is a day of pain for the whole country and especially for the families of the victims,” Sanchez said. “We would like to send everyone’s solidarity and wishes for a speedy recovery for those in hospital.” He added that “the nation acted as it must, and we came together.”

“It is true that Spanish society is wondering what happened. The answer is only time and the work of engineers. We will find out the truth and inform the people with absolute transparency,” the president said.

He also wanted to assure victims and their families that they will be “protected for as long as necessary.” Additionally, the state will observe a three-day official mourning period. As a final request to the public, he said: “If you want to access information, please do so through official mechanisms, not just verified media. In cases like this, misinformation is spread and causes great suffering.”
